Open House London
It’s one of our favourite weekends of the year: Open House London. Launched in 1992, Open House is an annual architecture festival where some of London’s most interesting and historic buildings open their doors to the public, for free. It’s a fantastic opportunity to explore London, find out more about iconic landmarks and marvel at some of the finest architecture in town.
With so many properties open, we’ve selected a few of the less obvious ones. And they just happen to be local to our stores, so feel free to pop in…
- Day House – Islington – An innovative family home that uses good design to make the most of limited space on the site of an old timber framed house. Find out more
- Royal Automobile Club – near Beak Street and Henrietta Street – with Open House sites such as 10 Downing Street and The Photographer’s Gallery within easy walking distance, there’s an abundance to see in Central London. The RAC clubhouse is our pick with some sumptuous interior spaces and a stunning swimming pool. Find out more
Christ Church – Spitalfields – another area spoilt for choice with a mix of innovative new buildings and historical pearls. We recommend the imposing Christ Church (across the road from out store), a Grade 1 listed stunner designed by Nicholas Hawksmoor. For a more modern space check out Second Home just off Brick Lane, a vibrant creative hub repurposed from an old Shoreditch carpet factory.
