Gregory Halpern (b. 1977) swiftly rose to international acclaim with the launch of ZZYZX, a best selling book and also the winner of the Paris Photo-Aperture 2016 PhotoBook of the Year Award. Named after a small town in California, this breath-taking book traces a Californian journey from the desert to the sea. California may have once been dubbed the ‰ۡÌÝÌáThe Land of Milk and Honey‰ۡó» but Halpern‰ۡó»s tender study of its people, places and animals captures the beautiful and redemptive in proximity to the despairing ‰ۡÌÝÌÕ all under a strange and singular light, as transcendent as it is harsh.
